In Wednesday's non-league game, the West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC) soccer squad tipped the host East Duplin Panthers (Beulaville, NC), by a final score of 1-0.
The Patriots (6-3) will now prepare for their game against Richlands (Richlands, NC). The Wildcats go into the Coastal 3A game with a 7-2 record. In their last game, Richlands was nudged by Clinton (Clinton, NC), 3-0, in a non-league game.
The Panthers (3-5) will now prepare for their game against North Lenoir (LaGrange, NC). The Hawks go into the East Central 2A game with a 4-4 record. In their last game, North Lenoir nipped SouthWest Edgecombe (Pinetops, NC), 4-2, in a non-league game.
