The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) and the host Jefferson Forest Cavaliers (Forest, VA), saw Appomattox County's softball squad nip Jefferson Forest by a count of 9-2.

The Raiders now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they host Altavista for a Dogwood match on Friday, March 24. Appomattox County will face a Colonels squad coming off a 10-1 non-league loss to Rustburg (Rustburg, VA). The Colonels record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Jefferson Forest falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA) to face the Statesmen in a non-league match on Thursday, March 23. The Statesmen enter the match with a record of 1-0. Randolph-Henry won 2-0 in their recent non-league match against Chatham (Chatham, VA)
