In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Notre Dame Pioneers (Crowley, LA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays (Eunice, LA), by a margin of 19-1.
With the triumph, Notre Dame moves its record to 14-1 on the year. The Pioneers host Vinton (Vinton, LA) to play the Lions in a non-league contest on Thursday, March 23. The Lions come into the contest with a record of 10-6. Vinton won 12-3 in their recent non-league contest against Lake Arthur (Lake Arthur, LA)
In their next game, the Fighting Blue Jays play the Sacred Heart Trojans (Ville Platte, LA) in a 1A District 5 contest, on Thursday, March 23. St. Edmund will attempt to move on its 8-4 season record. The Trojans come into the contest with a 9-10 record after their 14-0 league win over Westminster Academy (Opelousas, LA).
