North Carolina High School Softball - South Point gets by Shelby

March 22, 2023: Belmont, NC 28012

Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) and the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), witnessed South Point's softball squad tip Shelby by a count of 14-13.

The Red Raiders now sport a 1-6 record. They play next when they host Crest for a Big South 3A match on Friday, March 24. South Point will meet a Chargers squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Stuart W. Cramer (Belmont, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Shelby moves to 3-6 on the season. The Golden lions travel to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) to meet the Warriors in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A bout on Friday, March 24. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 5-2. East Gaston won 10-0 in their recent league bout against Shelby (Shelby, NC)
