With the triumph, Monterey moves its record to 10-6 on the year. The Plainsmen travel to Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX) to face the Pirates in a 5A Region I District 4 match on Tuesday, April 2. The Pirates enter the match with a record of 4-8.

With the loss, Amarillo falls to 19-6 on the campaign. The Sandies travel to Tascosa (Amarillo, TX) to face the Rebels in a 5A Region I District 3 match on Monday, March 25. The Rebels enter the match with a record of 4-13.
