Livingston Central Cardinals (Smithland, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Calloway County Lakers (Murray, KY), 7-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Trigg County for a District 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Livingston Central will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 11-3 league win over Lyon County (Eddyville, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Calloway County falls to 3-4 on the campaign. The Lakers host Marshall County (Benton, KY) to battle the Marshals in a District 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Marshals enter the challenge with a record of 6-2.
