New Caney Eagles (New Caney, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Caney Creek Panthers (Conroe, TX), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 13-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Willis for a 6A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. New Caney will battle a Wildkats squad coming off a 6-0 league loss to Oak Ridge (Conroe, TX). The Wildkats record now stands at 11-14.

With the loss, Caney Creek falls to 10-14 on the campaign. The Panthers host Conroe (Conroe, TX) to battle the Tigers in a 6A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 16-9. Conroe won 9-2 in their recent league challenge against College Park (The Woodlands, TX)
