Ceres Bulldogs (Ceres, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lathrop Spartans (Lathrop, CA), 9-3 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 4-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pacheco for a Western Athletic Conference challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Ceres will face a Panthers squad coming off a 9-7 league loss to Grace Davis (Modesto, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 2-7.

With the loss, Lathrop falls to 6-1 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Beyer (Modesto, CA) to face the Patriots in a Western Athletic Conference challenge on Monday, March 25. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. Beyer lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Los Banos (Los Banos, CA)
