The Hico Tigers routed the host Itasca Wampus Cats softball squad by a final score of 17-0 in Friday's league battle.

The Tigers (10-9) will now prepare for their battle against Rio Vista (Rio Vista, TX). The Eagles go into the 1A Region II District 12 battle with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Rio Vista notched a victory over Life Waxahachie (Waxahachie, TX), 14-3, in a non-league battle.

The Wampus Cats now possess a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Jonesboro for a 1A Region II District 12 battle on Tuesday, April 9.
