Jarrell Cougars (Jarrell, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lago Vista Vikings (Lago Vista, TX), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 14-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Burnet for a 4A Region III District 24 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Jarrell will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 7-3 league win over Lampasas (Lampasas, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Lago Vista falls to 7-15 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Marble Falls (Marble Falls, TX) to face the Mustangs in a 4A Region III District 24 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 3-7. Marble Falls lost 18-7 in their recent league challenge against Gateway College Preparatory (Georgetown, TX)
