Marion Bulldogs (Marion, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX), 19-8 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 12-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Luling for a 3A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Marion will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 19-3 league win over Randolph (Universal City, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 10-12.

With the loss, Nixon-Smiley falls to 5-14 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Cole (San Antonio, TX) to battle the Cougars in a 3A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 5-16. Cole lost 9-3 in their recent non-league challenge against D'Hanis (D'Hanis, TX)
