Spectators at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Weir Red Riders (Weirton, WV) and the host Brooke Bruins (Wellsburg, WV), saw Weir's baseball squad beat Brooke by a margin of 12-7.
Coming up next, the Red Riders play the Frankfort Falcons (Ridgeley, WV) in a Potomac Valley battle, on Saturday, March 26. Weir will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Falcons enter the battle with a 0-3 record after their 12-4 non-league loss to Mountain Ridge (Frostburg, MD).
The Bruins now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host John Marshall for a Ohio Valley Athletic AAAAA battle on Friday, March 25. Brooke will play a Monarchs squad coming off a 6-4 non-league loss to Parkersburg (Parkersburg, WV). The Monarchs record now stands at 1-2.
