Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer squad get by the host Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL), 1-0 in a league test.

The Redbirds now hold a 4-0 record. They play next when they travel to Triad for a non-league test on Saturday, March 25. Alton will meet a Knights squad coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Fort Zumwalt South (St. Peters, MO). The Knights record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Belleville West drops to 2-3 on the season. The Maroons travel to Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL) to meet the Hawks in a non-league test on Thursday, March 30. The Hawks come into the test with a record of 2-0. Gibault Catholic won 3-1 in their recent non-league test against Roxana (Roxana, IL)
