The Clay County Panthers softball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Webster County Highlanders to 10 in the Panthers league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Clay County moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Panthers travel to Gilmer County (Glenville, WV) to clash with the Titans in a Little Kanawha game on Tuesday, March 28. The Titans come into the game with a record of 6-1. Gilmer County won 15-0 in their recent non-league game against Tygarts Valley (Mill Creek, WV)

In their next game, the Highlanders clash with the Braxton County Eagles (Sutton, WV) in a Little Kanawha game, on Tuesday, March 28. Webster County will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Eagles come into the game with a 0-6 record after their 12-2 non-league loss to Nicholas County (Summersville, WV).
