Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Cleveland Central Wolves (Cleveland, MS), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Commodores now own a 8-7 record. They take the field next when they host South Pontotoc for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 24. Lafayette will face a Cougars squad coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Choctaw County (Ackerman, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Cleveland Central falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to Strayhorn (Sarah, MS) to face the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 24. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Strayhorn won 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Independence (Independence, MS)
