Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Denbigh Patriots (Newport News, VA), 17-4 in a league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Deep Creek for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 27. Menchville will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Hornets record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Denbigh falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Patriots host Warwick (Newport News, VA) to battle the Raiders in a Peninsula challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Warwick won 9-4 in their recent league challenge against Phoebus (Hampton, VA)
