Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Patrick Henry for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 24. Louisa County will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 8-2 non-league loss to Glen Allen (Glen Allen, VA). The Patriots record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Fluvanna County falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Flying flucos travel to Broadway (Broadway, VA) to battle the Gobblers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 25. The Gobblers enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Broadway lost 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Skyline (Front Royal, VA)
