Leesville Wampus Cats (Leesville, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Washington-Marion Charging Indians (Lake Charles, LA), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Wampus Cats now own a 6-10 record. They take the field next when they host Pickering for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 27. Leesville will battle a Red Devils squad coming off a 16-2 non-league loss to Jennings (Jennings, LA). The Red Devils record now stands at 0-12.

With the loss, Washington-Marion falls to 3-9 on the campaign. The Charging indians host Eunice (Eunice, LA) to battle the Bobcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 6-9.
