Panther Creek Catamounts (Cary, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Middle Creek Mustangs (Apex, NC), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Catamounts now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Green Level for a Southwest Wake 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Panther Creek will battle a Gators squad coming off a 14-2 non-league win over Athens Drive (Raleigh, NC). The Gators record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Middle Creek falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Apex (Apex, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Southwest Wake 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Apex won 7-4 in their recent league challenge against Apex Friendship (Apex, NC)
