South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now sport a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host Hunt for a Quad County 3A challenge on Friday, March 24. South Johnston will face a Warriors squad coming off a 9-8 league win over East Wake (Wendell, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Triton falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Hawks host Terry Sanford (Fayetteville, NC) to face the Bulldogs in a All American 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 24. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-7. Terry Sanford lost 12-0 in their recent league challenge against Triton (Erwin, NC)
