Hamilton Lions (Hamilton, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Amory Panthers (Amory, MS), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now own a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they host Aberdeen for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 23.

With the loss, Amory falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Panthers host Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS) to face the Indians in a 4A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Indians enter the challenge with a record of 16-1. Itawamba Agricultural won 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Tishomingo County (Iuka, MS)
