Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rio Rancho Rams (Rio Rancho, NM), 17-15 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host Manzano for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Cibola will battle a Monarchs squad coming off a 12-2 non-league loss to Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM). The Monarchs record now stands at 3-8.

With the loss, Rio Rancho falls to 5-7 on the campaign. The Rams host Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Piedra Vista won 26-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Shiprock (Shiprock, NM)
