Spectators at Saturday's league match between the Sudan Hornets (Sudan, TX) and the visiting New Deal Lions (New Deal, TX), witnessed Sudan's softball squad tip New Deal by a count of 13-6.

The Hornets now sport a 7-6 record. They play next when they host Floydada for a 2A Region I District 3 match on Tuesday, March 26. Sudan will face a Whirlwinds squad coming off a 19-1 non-league win over Olton (Olton, TX). The Whirlwinds record now stands at 15-4.

With the loss, New Deal moves to 1-7 on the season. The Lions travel to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX) to face the Owls in a 2A Region I District 3 match on Tuesday, April 2. The Owls go into the match with a record of 3-6. Hale Center lost 9-6 in their recent league match against Ralls (Ralls, TX)
