The crowd at Monday's league bout between the Johnson Central Golden Eagles (Paintsville, KY) and the visiting Paintsville Tigers (Paintsville, KY), observed Johnson Central's softball team notch a victory over Paintsville by a final score of 17-2.

The Golden Eagles (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY). The Cougars go into the non-league bout with a 2-2 record. In their last bout, Letcher County Central gained a win over Perry County Central (Hazard, KY), 10-3, in a non-league game.

The Tigers now hold a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Martin County for a District 57 game on Tuesday, March 24. Paintsville will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Mingo Central (Matewan, WV). The Cardinals record now stands at 1-1.
