Salinas Cowboys (Salinas, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting San Benito Haybalers (Hollister, CA), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Cowboys now own a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they host Archbishop Mitty for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Salinas will battle a Monarchs squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Branham (San Jose, CA). The Monarchs record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, San Benito falls to 5-1 on the campaign. The Haybalers travel to Ann Sobrato (Morgan Hill, CA) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 6. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 2-1.
