Anderson County Mavericks (Clinton, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Oak Ridge Wildcats (Oak Ridge, TN), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now own a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Hamilton for a non-league contest on Friday, March 25. Anderson County will play a Hurricanes team coming off a 15-1 non-league win over East Ridge (Chattanooga, TN). The Hurricanes record now stands at 5-2.

In their next game, the Wildcats play the Sevier County Smoky Bears (Sevierville, TN) in a non-league contest, on Friday, March 25. Oak Ridge will attempt to move on its 0-6 season record. The Smoky Bears come into the contest with a 2-3 record after their 15-0 league loss to Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN).
