Ozona Lions (Ozona, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Marfa Shorthorns (Marfa, TX), 18-2 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fort Hancock for a 2A Region I District 5 challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Ozona will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 22-16 non-league loss to Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy (El Paso, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Marfa falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Shorthorns travel to Fort Hancock (Fort Hancock, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 15. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 0-1.
