The R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) baseball trounced the visiting Brevard Blue Devils (Brevard, NC), 9-2 in Friday's league contest.
Coming up next, the Hilltoppers encounter the Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC) in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A contest, on Tuesday, March 28. R-S Central will attempt to better on its 7-2 season record. The Bearcats come into the contest with a 6-2 record after their 7-6 league win over Polk County (Columbus, NC).
The Blue Devils now sport a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Mitchell for a non-league contest on Monday, March 27. Brevard will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to McDowell (Marion, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 0-7.
