Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), 12-1 in a league test.

With the win, Independence upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Patriots travel to Garinger (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Wildcats in a Southwestern 4A test on Friday, March 24. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 0-9. Garinger lost 16-5 in their recent non-league test against Berry (Charlotte, NC)
