In Friday's league battle, the host South El Monte Eagles volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Gabrielino Eagles.
The Eagles (3-5) will now prepare for their battle against Glendale (Glendale, CA). The Nitros come into the non-league battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Glendale nudged Sylmar (Sylmar, CA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
