Atwater Falcons (Atwater, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Golden Valley Cougars (Merced, CA), 14-10 in a league challenge.

The Falcons now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hughson for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 25. Atwater will face a Huskies squad coming off a 20-4 league win over Escalon (Escalon, CA). The Huskies record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Golden Valley falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Cougars host Orestimba (Newman, CA) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 3. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 1-0.
