El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host South El Monte Eagles (South El Monte, CA), 10-4 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 7-1 record. They take the field next when they host Rosemead for a challenge on Wednesday, March 29.

With the loss, South El Monte falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Rosemead (Rosemead, CA) to face the Panthers in a challenge on Thursday, April 6. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-2.
