Airport Eagles (West Columbia, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting South Aiken Thoroughbreds (Aiken, SC), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host North Augusta for a AAAA Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Airport will battle a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Chapin (Chapin, SC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, South Aiken falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Thoroughbreds travel to Midland Valley (Graniteville, SC) to battle the Mustangs in a AAAA Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 8-2. Midland Valley won 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Aiken (Aiken, SC)
