Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA), 14-0 in a league challenge.

The Raiders now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chatham for a Dogwood challenge on Wednesday, March 29. Appomattox County will battle a Cavaliers squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Nelson County (Lovingston, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Altavista falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Colonels travel to Prince Edward County (Farmville, VA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 27. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Prince Edward County lost 20-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Nelson County (Lovingston, VA)
