Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX), 12-5 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 16-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wagner for a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Canyon will battle a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 18-2 league loss to Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 3-16.

With the loss, Seguin falls to 17-8 on the campaign. The Matadors travel to Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX) to battle the Chargers in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 6-10. Boerne-Champion lost 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX)
