The Cherryville Ironmen softball team scored 10 runs and limited the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons to 0 in the Ironmen league triumph on Friday.
With the triumph, Cherryville moves its record to 8-1 on the year. The Ironmen host Burns (Lawndale, NC) to clash with the Bulldogs in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A game on Tuesday, March 28. The Bulldogs come into the game with a record of 6-3. Burns won 11-1 in their recent league game against Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC)
In their next game, the Gryphons clash with the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle, on Monday, March 27. Thomas Jefferson will attempt to advance on its 0-6 season record. The Golden Lions go into the battle with a 3-7 record after their 14-1 league loss to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC).
