Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Clyde Bulldogs (Clyde, TX), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Badgers now own a 9-4 record. They take the field next when they host Wall for a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 18.

With the loss, Clyde falls to 15-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Wall (Wall, TX) to battle the Hawks in a 3A Region I District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 13-8. Wall won 13-0 in their recent league challenge against Grape Creek (San Angelo, TX)
