The crowd at Friday's league match between the Hawthorne Cougars (Hawthorne, CA) and the visiting Morningside Monarchs (Inglewood, CA), saw Hawthorne's softball squad achieve victory over Morningside by a count of 17-0.

The Cougars now sport a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Beverly Hills for a non-league match on Monday, March 27. Hawthorne will face a Normans squad coming off a 14-0 non-league loss to South Pasadena (South Pasadena, CA). The Normans record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Morningside falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Leuzinger (Lawndale, CA) to face the Olympians in a Ocean match on Tuesday, March 28. The Olympians enter the match with a record of 4-5.
