Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Juarez-Lincoln Huskies (La Joya, TX), 16-1 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 8-15 record. They take the field next when they host Martin for a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Nixon will face a Tigers squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 4-11.

With the loss, Juarez-Lincoln falls to 2-11 on the campaign. The Huskies host Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX) to face the Patriots in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 15-3. Mission Veterans Memorial won 12-0 in their recent league challenge against Martin (Laredo, TX)
