In Monday's league bout, the Independence Tigers (Independence, LA) baseball squad overwhelmed the host St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons (Hammond, LA), by a tally of 17-2.
Next up, the Tigers encounter the St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks (Greensburg, LA) in a 2A District 9 bout, on Thursday, March 27. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Hawks enter the bout with a 0-9 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Bogalusa (Bogalusa, LA).
The Falcons (9-13) will now prepare for their bout against Slidell (Slidell, LA). The Tigers enter the non-league bout with a 16-8 record. In their last bout, Slidell overcame Fontainebleau (Mandeville, LA), 10-2, in a league bout.
