In Monday's non-league game, the host Walnut Wildcats baseball team scored a nice 17-7 victory over the Thrasher Rebels.

The Wildcats (4-5) will now prepare for their game against New Site (New Site, MS). The Royals enter the 2A Region 1 challenge with a 10-6 record. In their last challenge, New Site gained a win over Belmont (Belmont, MS), 19-1, in a non-league challenge.

With the defeat, Thrasher drops to 6-6 on the year. The Rebels travel to Biggersville (Corinth, MS) to clash with the Lions in a 1A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 25. The Lions go into the challenge with a record of 2-12. Biggersville won 12-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Jumpertown (Booneville, MS)
