Fans at Monday's league battle between the Central Wise Warriors (Norton, VA) and the host Union Bears (Big Stone Gap, VA), saw Central Wise's soccer squad hold off Union by a count of 7-6.

The Warriors (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Lee (Jonesville, VA). The Generals enter the Mountain 7 battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Lee was edged by John Battle (Bristol, VA), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Bears battle the Lebanon Pioneers (Lebanon, VA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, March 27. Union will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Pioneers enter the battle with a 4-0 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Honaker (Honaker, VA).
