Texas High School Softball - Amarillo bounces Palo Duro

March 24, 2026: Amarillo, TX 79107

The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) and the host Palo Duro Dons (Amarillo, TX), observed Amarillo's softball team prevail over Palo Duro by a tally of 20-1.

The Sandies (12-7) will now prepare for their bout against Coronado (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs go into the 5A Region I District 3 bout with a 4-13 record. In their last bout, Coronado was routed by Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 16-3, in a league contest.

The Dons now hold a 4-18 record. They play next when they travel to Lubbock-Cooper for a 5A Region I District 3 contest on Friday, March 27. Palo Duro will face a Pirates squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Amarillo (Amarillo, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 10-9.
