North Carolina High School Softball - Kings Mountain bounces North Gaston

March 24, 2026: Kings Mountain, NC 28086

The Kings Mountain Mountaineers (Kings Mountain, NC) softball routed the visiting North Gaston Wildcats (Dallas, NC), 16-4 in Tuesday's league outing.

The Mountaineers now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Robbinsville for a non-league test on Thursday, March 26. Kings Mountain will meet a Black Knights team coming off a 17-0 league win over Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 9-0.

With the loss, North Gaston moves to 5-4 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Cherryville (Cherryville, NC) to encounter the Ironmen in a non-league outing on Wednesday, March 25. The Ironmen come into the outing with a record of 5-3. Cherryville won 15-6 in their recent non-league outing against Piedmont Community Charter (Gastonia, NC)
