The Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) baseball trounced the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 10-0 in Friday's league contest.

Coming up next, the Wildcats encounter the Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A contest, on Tuesday, March 29. Draughn will attempt to better on its 8-2 season record. The Patriots come into the contest with a 3-6 record after their 21-2 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC).

The Mountaineers now sport a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Unicoi County for a non-league contest on Monday, March 28. Mitchell will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 10-8 non-league win over West Ridge (Blountville, TN). The Blue Devils record now stands at 2-1.
