Spectators at Friday's league match between the C. Milton Wright Mustangs (Bel Air, MD) and the visiting Joppatowne Mariners (Joppa, MD), witnessed C. Milton Wright's softball squad tip Joppatowne by a count of 18-12.
The Mustangs now sport a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Fallston for a Upper Chesapeake Bay match on Monday, March 28.
With the loss, Joppatowne moves to 0-1 on the season. The Mariners host Harford Tech (Bel Air, MD) to face the Cobras in a Upper Chesapeake Bay match on Monday, March 28. The Cobras go into the match with a record of 0-0.

Highlights:
C. Milton Wright led 6-3 after two innings then Joppatowne scored eight runs in the top of the 3rd to take a 11-6 lead highlighted by S. Vanhorn's bases clearing double.
C. Milton Wright inched closer over the next two innings but then exploded for seven runs in the bottom of 5th and never looked back.
CMW pitcher Cara Hoover settled down and after three giving up only one run over the next four innings.
C. Milton Wright amassed 24 hits with everybody in the starting lineup with at least one hit.
Kaitlyn Williford had a career day hitting for the cycle while going 5 for 5 with 7 rbi's.
Other strong performances for CMW are 3B Noelle Beaver going 4 for 4 and C Veronica Ingold going 4 for 5.
