In Friday's league contest, the Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), by a margin of 12-2.
With the triumph, Chatham moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Cavaliers host Appomattox County (Appomattox, VA) to play the Raiders in a Dogwood contest on Wednesday, March 30. The Raiders come into the contest with a record of 3-0.
In their next game, the Governors play the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) in a non-league contest, on Monday, March 28. Nelson County will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Lancers come into the contest with a 3-2 record after their 8-2 league win over Brookville (Lynchburg, VA).
