The crowd at Friday's league match between the Early Longhorns (Early, TX) and the visiting Eastland Mavericks (Eastland, TX), saw Early's softball squad achieve victory over Eastland by a count of 17-5.

The Longhorns now sport a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dublin for a 3A Region I District 8 match on Tuesday, March 29. Early will face a Lions squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Millsap (Millsap, TX). The Lions record now stands at 1-10.

With the loss, Eastland falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Bangs (Bangs, TX) to face the Dragons in a 3A Region I District 8 match on Monday, March 28. The Dragons enter the match with a record of 9-4. Bangs won 11-4 in their recent league match against Peaster (Peaster, TX)
