North Carolina High School Softball - Wakefield holds off Rolesville

Wakefield Wolverines (Raleigh, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rolesville Rams (Rolesville, NC), 5-3 in a league challenge.

The Wolverines now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wake Forest for a Northern Athletic 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Wakefield will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Knightdale (Knightdale, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, Rolesville falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Rams travel to Millbrook (Raleigh, NC) to battle the Wildcats in a Northern Athletic 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-3. Millbrook lost 6-4 in their recent league challenge against Heritage (Wake Forest, NC)
