Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Tuloso-Midway Warriors/Cherokees (Corpus Christi, TX), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 7-9 record. They take the field next when they host Calallen for a 4A Region IV District 31 challenge on Friday, April 1. Zapata will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 11-7 league win over Alice (Alice, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 16-6.

With the loss, Tuloso-Midway falls to 12-9 on the campaign. The Warriors/cherokees host King (Kingsville, TX) to face the Brahmas in a 4A Region IV District 31 challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Brahmas enter the challenge with a record of 1-8. King lost 11-3 in their recent league challenge against Alice (Alice, TX)
